Drain Cleaning in Phoenix & Scottsdale, priced before we start.
Most drains do not fail suddenly. They narrow. A little grease in January, a little more in February, and by the time the kitchen sink backs up in March the pipe has been running at half its diameter for a year. The blockage you noticed on Tuesday started forming long before Tuesday.
That matters because clearing a clog and fixing a drain are two different jobs. Anyone with a cable machine can punch a hole through the obstruction and get the water moving again. The water moves. The problem stays. Six weeks later you are making the same phone call, usually to a different plumber, having concluded that the first one was no good.
We clear the line, then we look at it. If the camera shows scale, roots, a belly holding water, or a joint that has shifted, you get told. Sometimes the answer is that the pipe is fine and you have teenagers. That is a legitimate finding and we charge nothing extra to deliver it.
When it stops being a nuisance
More than one fixture is slow
A single slow sink is a local clog. Two or more on the same side of the house means the problem is further down, in the branch or the main. That is a different repair and a more urgent one.
The toilet bubbles when the washer drains
Air is being pushed back through the trap because it cannot get past the obstruction. This is a main-line symptom and it usually precedes a full backup by days, not months.
It clears, then returns within a month
A clog that comes back on a schedule is not a clog. It is a defect in the pipe that keeps catching material — a root intrusion, a scale ring, or a section that has lost its fall.
Water appears at the cleanout
Stop using water and call. The main is blocked and the next thing to fill is the lowest fixture in the house, which is usually a shower.
How the visit goes
- 01
We locate the actual blockage
Not the fixture that is complaining — the point in the system where the water is stopping. These are frequently not in the same room.
- 02
We clear it
Cable for soft obstructions and roots, hydro jetting where the pipe wall itself has built up. Jetting costs more and is worth it perhaps a third of the time; we will tell you which this is.
- 03
We put a camera down
You watch the screen with us. Roots, bellies, cracks, and offset joints all look like exactly what they are, and you do not need a plumbing licence to recognise a tree growing through a pipe.
- 04
You get told what we found
Including when the answer is nothing. A clean line is genuinely good news and we would rather hand it to you than manufacture a repair.
What it typically runs
$89 – $450
Cabling through an accessible cleanout sits at the bottom of that range. Jetting, roof-vent access, or installing a cleanout where none exists moves it up. You get the number before we start, and it does not change afterwards.
Financing is available on larger jobsDrains are one of the few plumbing problems that give you plenty of notice. The trick is reading the notice.
