  • Pressure that only fails at distance

    Good at the fixture nearest the main, poor at the far end of the house. That is the pipe closing up, not the city supply.

How long will we be without water?

Is PEX genuinely as good as copper?
For a residential supply system in Phoenix, yes — and in some respects better. It has no pinhole failure mode, it handles hard water without scaling at joints, and it has fewer connections to fail. Copper is a fine material with a longer track record. We install either without preference.
Can we do it in stages?
Yes, and sometimes that is the right answer — hot side first, or one wing at a time. It costs somewhat more in total because of repeated setup, but it spreads the outlay.
