  • Green crust on copper, rust at threads

    Corrosion on the outside of a fitting usually means water has been weeping from it for a while. That’s the easiest leak to fix, before it turns into a spray.

  • What does your gauge say?

    A reading over 80 PSI shortens the life of every pipe, valve, and appliance in the house. It’s one of the most common hidden reasons behind the breaks we repair.

  • Brittle, cracked plastic

    Yellowed CPVC or gray polybutylene that cracks when touched. One repair is fine. A run of them points toward repiping.

  • Weak flow at a single fixture

    If the aerator and cartridge are clean, the line feeding that fixture may be kinked, crushed, or corroded partway closed.

Can a leaking pipe wait until morning?
If you can shut off the water to that line or the whole house, usually. A leak you can isolate is a scheduling problem. One you can’t stop is an emergency, and we answer at every hour.
Is a pipe repair clamp a permanent fix?
Think of it as a good tourniquet. On a pinhole or small split it will hold for a while, but it covers the problem rather than removing it. We use one when it’s the quickest way to get your water back, then replace the section properly.
Why do my copper pipes keep getting pinholes?
Usually a mix of water chemistry, high flow velocity, and installation details such as burrs left inside cut pipe. Once one pinhole appears, others tend to follow on the same run. Three in a couple of years is the point to talk seriously about replacement.
Do you patch the drywall after a pipe repair?
